Cold War Kids are an indie rock band from Long Beach, California, USA. They have released three EPs via Monarchy Music, and they appeared at the 2006 SXSW music festival and the 2006 Lollapalooza music festival. In 2006 they signed to Downtown Records.

Lollapalooza described their sound as, "...clappy, clangy and jangly."

In addition to the aformentioned three EPs, in early 2006 the Cold War Kids released Robbers and Cowards. The album has been received well critically despite an initially lukewarm review from indie website Pitchfork Media.

They performed on The Late Show with David Letterman on December 21, 2006.

The Cold War Kids have been confirmed to be playing this year's Bonnaroo Festival via an interview with Jambase.

The Cold War Kids's single "Hang Me Up to Dry" was iTunes's Single of the Week starting January 9, 2007.
